MORTAR & PESTLE PRODUCTIONS
Mortar & Pestle Productions is comprised of a talented, passionate and diverse group of young professionals dedicated to sharing our love for the arts and theatre in Toronto's East End.
Melissa Beveridge, Co-Founder, Director-Producer, Costume Designer, Actor
Melissa was born with an inner love and passion to perform. There was never a moment where she chose to pursue theatre it has just always been a natural method of expression, experimentation, freedom and in general, life. She was definitely the annoying four year old telling her teacher to gather the rest of the class because she was going to put on a play and for some reason they always humoured her. Three decades later, some amazing roles (Beatrice, Much Ado about Nothing; Portia, The Merchant of Venus; Elaine Harper, Arsenic and Lace: Rizzo, Grease: Desmedona, Othello; Maria, Twelfth Night; Tatianna, Midsummer Nights Dream) and with the love and support of her "Theatre Family" she has finally turned that four year old's dream into a reality by creating Mortar & Pestle Productions.
Caedmon Ricker-Wilson, Board Member/Actor
Caedmon has been a feature in the Beaches Community Theatre scene for nearly a decade. Not even out of high school, he debuted as Enjolras (and a dozen other minor parts) in a student production of Les Miserables, followed by the Persian con artist Ali Hakim in Oklahoma!. He then transitioned to Shakespeare, joining Bard in the Park from it's year of inception. He has brought his offbeat charm and unique physicality to roles such as Malvolio from Twelfth Night, Oberron from Midsummer Nights Dream, Bassanio from the Merchant of Venice, Don Pedro from Much Ado About Nothing and most recently Laertes from Hamlet. He is thrilled to be stepping into a more active role on the Board of Mortar & Pestle Productions and eagerly anticipates the coming first season.
