Workshops Description

Name Your Emotions: Story Stick Workshop for Families

Are you looking for a simple, creative way to help your family communicate and understand emotions? In this Emotion Story Stick Workshop, parents and children will connect through a fun, hands-on activity that makes emotions easier to identify and talk about.

What You’ll Do
In this engaging workshop, you and your child will create Emotion Story Sticks by wrapping colorful yarn around sticks, with each color representing different emotions. It’s like turning feelings into something you can see and touch—giving emotions a name when words are hard to find.

You’ll both learn about 8 key emotions and how to express them through colors and textures, building a shared emotional vocabulary that can be used in daily conversations and for emotional regulation.

Why It Matters
When children act out due to unrecognized emotions, it can leave parents feeling confused or frustrated. This workshop offers a practical tool to help by turning emotions into a visual and tactile resource. These sticks become a go-to in your family’s emotional toolkit, making tough feelings easier to navigate.

Take the Workshop Home
By the end of the session, you’ll have your own Emotion Story Sticks—lasting tools that foster resilience, emotional openness, and deeper family communication. Plus, you’ll receive guidance on how to keep these emotional conversations going at home.

Build Emotional Skills for Life
This workshop provides a unique opportunity to strengthen your parenting toolkit. Emotion Story Sticks are more than just art—they're lifelong skills, helping your family grow stronger roots, ready to face life’s challenges together.
